SKYACTIV is a series of technologies that Mazda intended that they increase engine output and fuel efficiency. The Mazda Atenza uses a Skyactiv-D engine which is a group of diesel engines that are turbocharged. The Atenza uses SH-VPTS engine with a displacement of 2191cc. This engine was first used in CX-5s. In the Atenza, it produces 173hp and 420Nm of torque which gives the Atenza an edge over other sedans of the same class.
