It is powered by a 3.5L V6 naturally aspirated petrol engine and two electric motors with one dedicated to the front wheels and the other dedicated to the rear wheels when needed. This gives the RX450h an edge over any other luxury crossover especially in urban driving as the hybrid system works optimally in city roads where the start-stop feature works. Highway driving is not much of a joy to the hybrid system as the Internal Combustion system is needed to power the high demanding acceleration.
