Suzuki Escudo is the name Suzuki Vitara is marketed under in Japan and a number of other markets. It has been produced as an SUV since 1988 in different body capacities from a mini SUV to a subcompact crossover SUV. It has been produced in configurations of front-engine, rear-wheel drive between 1988-2017, front-engine, front-wheel drive from 2015 and a four-wheel drive configuration available as an option since 1988. This is the 4th gen that was produced from 2015 adopting a lightweight unibody platform that it shares with the S×4 S-Cross. It now gets a transverse all-wheel drive layout being the AllGrip variant meaning it intelligently drives all the 4 wheels. It still scores to be a good offroad companion!
